Our Story

  In 2013, I learned the intricate art of chocolate making from a dear friend, Annie Perron. For three years, we diligently worked side-by-side, handcrafting delectable chocolate creations that we sold as a side business at local events, including the renowned Moss Street Market. Together, we poured our hearts into perfecting each recipe, ensuring every bite was a heavenly delight for our customers. It was a truly enriching experience that I will always cherish.

 

You may be wondering why I started my own business. Well, Annie moved away, and our business fell through. However, I was later invited to showcase my chocolates at A Celebration of Chocolate at the Royal BC Museum. With just two weeks to prepare, I had to buy everything I needed, including chocolate, moulds, and a new business name. Fast forward a couple of years, and I had the pleasure of participating in chocolate and alcohol tastings at the Tudor House. Eventually, I became the in-house chocolatier, and we held 2-3 tastings per week.

 

I developed a strong passion for the business aspect of my food-related pursuits, constantly striving to expand my creativity and develop innovative and exciting food pairings. The added perk of meeting and interacting with some of the most talented and accomplished individuals in the industry has been a true highlight of my journey.

  In early 2022, my family and I received somewhat unsettling news. Our landlord had decided to sell our current house, which meant we would need to find a new home. As you can imagine, this was a significant concern for us, especially as we also run our own business from home. We were worried that the move would hurt our company and our livelihoods.

Thankfully, after a thorough search, I found a new location in Langford that suited our needs. This new space provided the room needed to continue growing my company and offer us a comfortable and safe place to live.

To make matters even better, my daughter Léonie suggested we become partners and make this our full-time venture. This was an exciting prospect for all of us, and we felt confident that this move would help us to achieve our goals and build a bright and prosperous future for ourselves and our business.
 

Upon my daughter becoming a partner in our business, we stumbled upon the Langford station and its charming collection of little shops. These delightful establishments offered a perfect solution for us to continue our business throughout the year, not just during the holiday season. With the ability to sell our products in a physical location and provide a convenient pickup option for online orders, we found everything we needed to keep our business thriving. 

As a creator, I take immense pleasure in bringing joy to others through my confections. Whether for a special event, part of a business strategy, or to indulge, I strive to infuse every bite with a touch of decadence. My chocolates, produced under the name Julie's Delights Chocolates, are crafted with the freshest local ingredients and are always made with love.
